League play is a big part of the fun at the Panorama West Golf Course. For the 2017 season, there are two men’s leagues and one women’s league. League members must either purchase an annual Panorama West membership, or pay the $16 daily green fee.
TUESDAY WOMEN’S LEAGUE - Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experienced players. The format is individual play, so no partners are needed. League members tee off any time 7-10:30 a.m., and gather in the clubhouse following their round for snacks and beverages. Prizes are awarded weekly in two flights for special events and low scores. Records kept throughout the season are the basis for annual awards presented at a wrap-up luncheon. A kickoff luncheon will be April 25 with the first day of golf May 2, and the awards luncheon September 5. Dues are $30 for league play. For more information, contact Sharon Wedemeyer at 641-431-0104, or email@example.com.
TUESDAY EVENING MEN’S LEAGUE - An evening men’s league gets together each Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 5:30 p.m. Play begins April 25 and runs through August 29. Dues are $20 to cover weekly prizes, plus individual scores are turned in for prizes at the end of the season. An optional scramble follows the first round each week. For more information, contact Jay Merryman at 641-751-5957 or firstname.lastname@example.org; or Bill Eby at 515-240-7652 or email@example.com.
THURSDAY MORNING MEN’S LEAGUE - Thursday mornings bring the second men’s league to the course. League members tee off any time 7-8:30 a.m., and share donuts and coffee before and after the round. Annual league dues of $20 covers regular play from April 27 and run for 18 weeks of regular play. Weekly cash prizes and individual awards are handed out at the end of the season. An optional scramble begins at 9:45 a.m. each week for an additional $1. For more information, contact Virgil Hoehne at 641-757-0962 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
FORE FUN FRIDAY COUPLES GOLF - This two couple scramble with fun twists and strategies will be held June 9, June 23, July 7, July 21, August 11 and August 25. Play will begin at 5 p.m. Couples are asked to arrive early to learn about that week’s event, get hole assignments, and pay the $1 per couple entry fee. Entry fees are returned as prize money as players gather on the deck after the round. For more information, contact Bill and Karen Eby at 641-755-2907.
