Another Panorama West Hole-in-One
On July 28, Tom Godwin of Yale had a Hole in One at Panorama West. He said he hadn’t played there for many years, but he and three others made up a foursome because of the couples tournament at the LPN where they normally play on Sundays. It was Godwin’s first shot on Hole #1 and he aced it, using an 8 iron. Kevin Wood, Lynn Knudsen, and Rod Knudsen were his witnesses.
If your play at Panorama West results in a hole-in-one, report details in the pro shop after your round. A running tally is kept, with aces recognized on a wall display. Godwin’s was the fourth hole-in-one reported in 2019. Remember, weekend tee times are available at Panorama West. Call the pro shop at (641) 755-2250 to reserve your spot, or show up to play on weekends amongst scheduled tee times. Pro shop hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
This is Ryder Cup Week
The 2019 Irv Gerlich Memorial Ryder Cup kicks off Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. stag event. Teams will be announced, and shirts/caps and pairings distributed. Golf begins Friday with an 11 a.m. shotgun. An LPN employee shootout will be that evening about 5 p.m., with spectators welcome. Saturday is another 11 a.m. shotgun start, followed by a 5 p.m. shootout featuring the 12 low gross and 12 low net players. The event wraps up Sunday, with singles matches beginning at 10 a.m. Direct questions to team captains Steve Moline and Russ Hawley.
With the LPN course tied up much of the weekend, consider calling Panorama West for a tee time, as mentioned in the item above. Or, this may be a good time to check out one of the nine courses involved in the 2019 reciprocal program. The courses in this program allow LPN members to play at reduced rates, with tee times arranged by the LPN pro shop. Fees cover 18 holes of golf, cart and range balls, with taxes extra. Tee time restrictions apply, and accompanying guests pay full rate. Check out the options below, then ask the LPN pro shop staff to arrange a tee time for you.
