Special July 3 & 4 Links Hours
Although The Links is normally closed Mondays, it will be OPEN this Monday, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to serve breakfast and lunch. On Tuesday, July 4, the Links will open and close earlier than a normal Tuesday. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to serve breakfast and lunch. So come enjoy food and drinks at the Links during these special hours. Call the Links at 641-755-2100 with questions or to place an order to go.
Fourth of July Couples Golf and Long Drive Contest
On Tuesday, July 4, LPN will host its annual couples golf tournament starting at 12:30 p.m. Cost for LPN members is $30 per couple, and $100 per couple for non-members. This is an 18-hole, four-person best-shot. Sign-up your team by calling the LPN pro shop at 641-755-2024. There will be a potluck dinner following golf at Spikes. Bring a covered dish and/or something to grill.
The long drive contest will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the first tee. Cost is $5 for 3 balls. Prizes will be awarded in multiple divisions and age groups. No registration needed for this event, just show up with cash and a cheering section.
Reminder - Tee Times at Panorama West
A reminder tee times can be reserved at the Panorama West golf course on holidays and weekends. Because of this extended holiday weekend, tee times also are being accepted for Monday, as well as Tuesday, the Fourth of July. Call the Panorama West pro shop at 641-755-2250 for tee times. Rally for the Cure
The LPN women's league is sponsoring its annual Rally for a Cure fundraiser on Thursday, July 27. This event replaces regular league play that evening, and is open to all LPA women golfers, not just league members. The cost is $20 for LPN members, with non-members paying an additional green fee to the course. Teams will be drawn at 5:15 p.m., followed by announcements, then a shotgun start at 5:30 p.m. Format for this event is best ball with pin events, games and prizes. Following golf, dinner will be available for an additional cost. A silent auction with lots of great donated items will take place throughout the evening, with winning bidders announced after dinner. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Komen Greater Iowa. An entry form is available online.
