News from The Links

The Links dining room will be closed Saturday to accommodate a large wedding reception. But the Links bar will be open all day Saturday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Both the dining room and bar will reopen Sunday at 8 a.m. Reservations are always accepted, and are an especially good idea if you'll have a large group. Call 641-755-2080 or 641-755-2100 to reserve your table.

If you haven't yet tried the recurring midweek specials, time is running out as these are only good for the month of July. Taco Tuesdays offer two hard or soft shell beef tacos topped with cheese and pico de gallo, served with rice, refried beans and queso blanco for $7.95. Wednesday is Rib Night for $15.95, and includes slow roasted pork ribs with a smoky barbeque sauce, served with bacon coleslaw and baked beans. Home-cooked comfort food, with a main dish and sides, is offered each Thursday for $10.95.

Looking for a part-time job? The LPN soon will be hiring to replace summer staff returning to school in the fall. We will be looking for part-time help at Spikes, The Links kitchen and servers in The Links restaurant. We offer competitive wages and flexible schedules. Stop by the LPN front desk daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to get an application.

Change in Spikes Management

Lake Panorama National would like to thank Chaille Crandall for all of her hard work as the Spikes manager the past two years. Chaille has done a great job at Spikes, but now has decided to pursue other opportunities. On July 10, Dee Powell stepped into the position of Spikes manager for the remaining months of the 2016 golf season. A big thanks and best wishes to Chaille, and a welcome and congratulations to Dee!

Volunteers Needed for Iowa Open

The LPN hosts the Brokers International Iowa Open August 19-21, and volunteers are needed for 160 shifts. More than half of those are filled, including most shifts Friday and Saturday mornings. At least 20 additional shifts remain open each day Friday and Saturday afternoons and Sunday morning. Afternoon shifts start between noon and 1:30 p.m. Sunday shifts start between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., and will last until play is completed on assigned holes, which should be 4-5 hours. Lunch, snacks and bottled water is provided to volunteers each day they work.

All volunteers are invited to a cookout at Spikes on Tuesday, August 16 at 5 p.m.. At that time, they will receive a new gold-colored Antigua microfiber shirt, with a choice of black, cardinal or purple logo. While they last, new volunteers also will receive a new shirt and cap from previous years. Online registration is preferred and available here. Paper copies of the form are available in the LPN pro shop, at Spikes, or from Larry and Julie Wykoff, volunteer coordinators. Questions? Call Julie at 515-778-0053.
