LPN Weekly - 3/6/2016

Golf Courses are Open!

The Lake Panorama National golf course is officially open for the 2016 season, with golf carts now allowed on the course using the 90-degree rule. The driving range also is open. The LPN pro shop is open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with hours adjusted as weather dictates. If you haven't yet joined for this year, review your options on the membership forms available here. Through the end of March, green fees, including cart, are $38 until 3 p.m., when the rate drops to $28.

The Panorama West golf course also is open for play. Golf carts are allowed, unless turf conditions deteriorate. If you haven't yet joined for 2016, renewing and new member forms are available here. For non-members, daily green fees are $16 and may be paid at the kiosk.

The Links Reopens Tuesday!

The Links kitchen will reopen this Tuesday at 11 a.m., after being closed two weeks for remodeling. New lunch and dinner menus will be available beginning Tuesday. Since the kitchen crew will be learning their way around their new digs, plus preparing some of the dishes on the new menu for the first time, please give the staff a little extra leeway as things get up-to-speed. Perhaps have another drink to relax after you place your order?

In observance of Lent, Fish Fry Fridays will be offered this coming Friday, March 11, plus the next two Fridays. Come out for all-you-can-eat beer battered cod, prepared and served fresh from the kitchen. For lunch, the cod is served with coleslaw and fries at a cost of $9.95. For dinner, enjoy the all-you-can-eat cod with a dinner salad, roll, coleslaw and fries for $15.95. While you're there, check out the new paint and decor in The Links bar and conference center registration area. It's a fresh new look to complement the new kitchen and menu!

Make Reservations for Easter Brunch

The LPN’s annual Easter Brunch will be Sunday, March 27, with seatings every half hour from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Chef Peter Makens is planning a wide variety of dishes, which will be presented at new serving stations first used at the December holiday brunch. Diners will enjoy fresh cinnamon and caramel rolls, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, assorted salads and an artisan cheese display. Eggs will be featured several ways, and include a made-to-order omelet station, scrambled eggs, egg soufflé and Eggs Benedict. Meat offerings will include house-cured salmon, thick-sliced applewood bacon, breakfast sausage, chef-carved roast beef and ham, and corned beef hash. Crepes, French toast, au gratin potatoes and baked mostaccioli will round out the buffet offerings.

Since the kitchen staff will be busy preparing for the brunch, The Links breakfast menu won't be available that day. The brunch cost is $19.95 for adults, $9.95 for children ages 5 to 12, with children 4 and under free. Adults can enjoy a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar for an extra $7. Reservations are strongly recommended. Call the LPN front desk at 641-755-2080 to reserve your table.

The fourth annual LPN Easter egg hunt also will be held that day at 10 a.m., adjacent to the east side of the conference center. Bring the kids and grandkids and enjoy the fun! This is open to all children, not just those attending the brunch.
