Valentine's Celebration Enjoyed by 60

Sixty diners enjoyed LPN's special Valentine's dinner Saturday evening. Tables were decorated with rose petals, and Valentine’s cards outlined details of the five courses. Each course was paired with a different wine. Chef Peter Makens personally presented each course, describing the food and its wine pairing. Delicious food, and a fun event!

Reminders: Kitchen Remodel, Fish Fry Fridays, Easter Brunch

The Links kitchen will be closing next Sunday, February 21, for a much-needed remodel, and reopen Tuesday, March 8. The work will include replacing the ceiling damaged by a roof leak that has been fixed; replacing an aging walk-in cooler with a new, larger refrigerator; and improving the food prep line. At its November meeting, the LPA Board of Directors voted to include the kitchen remodel in its 2016 capital budget.

During the remodel, The Links bar area will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Drink specials and limited finger foods will be offered. When the kitchen reopens, new lunch and dinner menus will be introduced, along with daily specials.

Fish Fry Fridays will be observed at The Links on Fridays the kitchen is open during Lent. So this coming Friday, February 19, come out for all-you-can-eat beer battered cod. For lunch, the cod will be served with coleslaw and fries at a cost of $9.95. For dinner, enjoy the all-you-can-eat cod with a dinner salad, roll, coleslaw and fries for $15.95. These are not buffets, but rather meals served fresh from the kitchen. These Fish Fry Fridays will return March 11 and continue until Easter. The LPN’s annual Easter Brunch will be Sunday, March 27.

Let's Get Ready for Golf!

A reminder winter pro shop hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday. Your golf staff now is busy planning 2016 tournaments, special events and league activities, plus restocking the pro shop with new merchandise. Most entry forms for 2016 tournaments now are available here, with the first scheduled event being the annual Bud Light 8-Inch Cup Best Shot on April 24.

If you haven't yet joined for the 2016 golf season, review your options on the membership forms available here. Or stop in the pro shop and talk it over with the staff. Here's hoping for an early spring!
