Panorama West League Results
League play has ended at Panorama West. The women’s league wrapped up its 2015 season Tuesday with a four-gal best-shot tournament and awards lunch. Toni Wright was recognized as the most improved player. The top five players in the league were Sharon Wedemeyer in first place; Toni Wright, second; Donna Daniels, third; Rocky Barth, fourth; and Judy Schnack, fifth.
The Thursday morning men’s league held a final tournament and league banquet September 3. The top four players in the league were Bill Wright in first place; Del Wedemeyer, second; Sy Kallhoff, third; and Jerry Armstrong, fourth. Most improved golfers were Don Staver, Jim Smith, Frank Keeran and Sy Kallhoff. Jerry Armstrong was the tournament champion. In a two-person best ball event last Thursday, the team of Wally Snyder and Don Staver took top honors with a 29. In the Tuesday evening men’s league, Paul Brewster took first place, followed by Curtis Twigg in second and Doug Piper in third. Jim Smith was the most improved. The league wrapped up with a tournament in late August.
The three leagues this year contributed to some Panorama West improvements. The women’s league purchased a new shoe scraper and flowers for a new flowerbed near the pro shop. The two men’s leagues donated money to purchase materials for a new outdoor kiosk near the first tee. Kurt Johnson is building the kiosk, and other volunteers will help remove the old one and install the new one. When the pro shop is closed, the kiosk makes it possible for golfers to check in, get scorecards, and pay green fees.
