Joyce Moore Retires from LPN Front Desk

Joyce Moore is retiring after 15 years as the LPN lodging receptionist. Her last day of work is Tuesday. John Dinnebier, LPN general manager, says Moore will be missed. "All the businesses and individuals she has interacted with over the years have been important to the LPN, and she has a special relationship with many of our long-time customers," he said. A reception for Moore will be held at the LPN on Sunday, June 28, 1-3 p.m. Guests are invited to come anytime during those two hours for light refreshments and to wish her well in retirement.

Nancy Armstrong has been a part-time employee at the LPN front desk for six years, and will continue in that role. She will split the front-desk duties with Sarah Meinecke, who completed an internship at the LPN last summer. Meinecke graduated from Iowa State in December with a bachelor's degree in event management. She also is working in the LPN pro shop, and helping with special events.

Farewell Reception for Harris Family July 3

Change also is happening in The Links. In April, Mike Harris resigned after 17 years as a chef to take a new position in Adair, although he continued to assist with large events. Gina Harris continued to work as The Links manager, a position she has held for 14 years. Their son, Michael, Jr., has been cooking at The Links for 12 years. Now these three members of the Harris clan are headed to new opportunities. Mike has taken a job in Lincoln, Neb., so he, Gina and their two girls will be moving to Lincoln soon. Michael is moving to California in mid-July.

A farewell reception will be held at the LPN on Friday, July 3, 4-6 p.m. Guests are invited to come and go throughout those two hours to enjoy refreshments and wish the trio well. John Dinnebier, LPN general manager, expressed appreciation for the hard work and dedication Mike, Gina and Michael Harris have provided to the LPN. “All three have contributed to the great food and service we provide in The Links and at banquets and wedding receptions,” he said.
