LPN Weekly - 1/3/2016

And The Winners Are....

Everyone who paid their 2016 LPN golf membership in full by last Wednesday was entered into a drawing held Saturday. David Van Ahn won the grand prize of a Titleist driver. Larry and Mary Hills won a Titleist golf bag, Gene Hardy won a round of golf for four with carts, and Red Lowe won a $100 Links gift certificate. Thanks to all who paid their 2016 dues in 2015!

If you haven't yet joined for 2016, keep in mind there is a significant "EARLY BIRD" DISCOUNT for those who pay in full by January 31. There are three types of LPN golf memberships. Regular memberships are available to both LPA members and non-members. Special memberships are for those who were not LPN golf members in 2015, and distance memberships for people who are not LPA members and who live more than 18 miles from the LPN. Golf membershipmen's league and women's league forms are available on the LPN's website. Questions? Call the pro shop at 641-755-2024, or stop in. Winter pro shop hours are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday.

Comedian Jay Harris to Perform January 16

Get a group together and join the fun at the LPN on Saturday, January 16. Comedian Jay Harris will be at Lake Panorama National to perform at 8 p.m. This is a FREE performance, to show appreciation for our loyal customers in 2015 and celebrate what's ahead in 2016. Jay lives in Chicago and works full-time as a comedian. His interactions with everyday people and his personal quirks give him a unique perspective on life. Food and drink specials will be offered throughout the evening, so come early for drinks and dinner, then stay for the show. And get ready to laugh!

New LPN Board Organizes, Gets to Work

The new LPN Board of Managers has met four times, elected officers, formed three ad-hoc committees and is starting to make recommendations. The Lake Panorama Association Board of Directors this fall created the new LPN board and appointed its seven members. The LPA has owned the LPN golf course since 1977. It purchased the conference center in 2005, and established a legal corporate entity known as “LPN, LLC” to manage the wholly owned subsidiary.

Keeping the LPA and LPN, LLC operations separate protects the LPA’s 501(c)4 nonprofit status. Brice Oakley is president of the new board, with Kane Powell as vice president, and Julie Wykoff as secretary-treasurer. Other board members are Ann Appleseth, Katelyn Brelsford, Dave Butterwick and Mark Juhl. Learn more here.

Get Fit at the LPN Fitness Center

If you made a New Year’s resolution to improve your health and perhaps lose some weight in 2016, buy a membership at the LPN fitness center. Cardiovascular and strength training equipment are available, including treadmills, life cycle bikes, elliptical cross-trainers and weight machines. A wall-mounted flat screen television will help make your workout a breeze. Memberships are $20 per month for a single, $30 for a couple and $40 for a family, with tax included.

The fitness center is available whenever the LPN is open. Paid members receive a programmed card that allows access to the fitness room, which is on the lower level of the LPN conference center adjacent to the pro shop. Membership applications can be picked up at the LPN front desk, or purchases can be made online.
