Beer Tasting Rescheduled, Wine Tasting Added

The November beer tasting event that was postponed because of bad weather has been rescheduled for Friday, December 11. Representatives of Summit Brewing Company will be here 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a fun evening of food and drink. Three Summit brews will be available for a free tasting - Sága IPA, Pilsener and Winter Ale. Summit also is planning some giveaways throughout the evening, and The Links kitchen will be offering food specials. Make plans now to come join the fun!

But that's not all! A wine tasting is planned for Saturday, December 19, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mark your calendars for this new tasting event, and watch for more details next week.

Now Available: The Links New Dessert Menu

Chef Peter Makens is putting the finishing touches on new menus for The Links. There will be separate menus for brunch, lunch, dinner and perhaps most importantly...dessert! Lucky for us, he's decided an early Christmas gift is in order, and is offering the new dessert menu immediately. So the next time you're in The Links, consider eating dessert first! Here are the choices:

Deep Dish Caramel Apple Tart; Flourless Chocolate Torte with Fresh Raspberry; New York Style Cheese Cake with Strawberry Purée; JD’s Sundae, which offers a homemade brownie, vanilla bean gelato, scratch chocolate sauce, roasted peanuts and toasted scratch marshmallow; or the Dinkaroo Sundae, featuring chocolate chip cookie pieces, vanilla bean gelato, scratch chocolate and caramel, and toasted scratch marshmallow.

Make Reservations for LPN Holiday Brunch

Reservations are coming in nicely for the annual LPN Holiday Brunch on Sunday, December 13. Service will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with reservations taken in half-hour increments. Chef Peter is planning a variety of new items for this holiday brunch. The menu includes fresh cinnamon and caramel rolls, assorted pastries, fresh fruit, assorted salads, an artisan cheese display, a made-to-order omelet station, scrambled eggs, egg soufflé and Eggs Benedict. Meat offerings include house-cured salmon, thick-sliced applewood bacon, breakfast sausage, chef-carved roast beef and ham, and corned beef hash. Crepes, French toast, au gratin potatoes and baked mostaccioli round out the offerings. Cost is $18.95 for adults, $9.95 for children ages 5 to 12, with children 4 and under free. Reservations are strongly recommended as this brunch sells out quickly. 2016 Golf Membership Mailings

The LPN staff says thanks for a great 2015 and we're looking forward to an even better year in 2016. Let's start making plans, because spring will be here before we know it...we hope! Those who were 2015 members at either Lake Panorama National or Panorama West can expect to receive golf membership mailings in the next week or two. Be sure to take time to review and renew for 2016!

Pro Shop Sale & Hours

Pro shop hours have shifted to a winter schedule. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop is closed Sunday and Monday. The year-end sale continues, with men's short-sleeved polos discounted 40 percent, and men's outerwear 30 percent. All women's clothing is 40 percent off. Golf shoes and golf bags are 20 percent off. Golf gloves are 25 percent off, and all headwear is discounted 30 percent. Some discount racks are 50 and 75 percent off.
