LAKE PANORAMA NATIONAL RESORT

SOCIAL CANVAS PAINTING RETURNS TO LPN APRIL 30
For the second time, the LPN will host a “Social Canvas To Go” event in which participants go home with an acrylic painting they created. The Social Canvas is owned by Terry and Linda Laughery of Guthrie Center. Painting sessions generally are held at a studio in Waukee, but the success of an LPN February event led to a return engagement April 30.

In a group setting, an artist guides participants step-by-step through replicating the night’s featured painting. The session begins at 6 p.m., but participants should arrive early to check in.

Food and drink can be purchased from The Links before, during and after the event. Specials will include $1 off all appetizers and flat bread pizzas, $1.50 draw beer, $2.50 well drinks and $3 glasses of house wine.

The session will last about two hours. Cost is $35, which covers canvases, paints, brushes, easels and aprons. Credit card information is collected to hold the reservation, with the $35 fee paid at check-in. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 515-216-1037, or online.

MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH
Treat your mother, grandmother, or great-grandmother to brunch on May 12. Chef Mike Harris will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees, along with sweet desserts. Brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Links will be closed for regular business to host the brunch. Make reservations by calling 641-755-2080.

MENS BATHROOM RENOVATION COMPLETE
Six weeks ago renovations began on the main level conference center bathrooms. First the women’s bathroom renovation was completed.

Soon after, work began on the men’s bathroom. The work included replacement of all fixtures, stalls, counters, tile, light fixtures and doors. The project was part of the LPA’s annual capital budget designated for improvements at the LPN. A picture of the completed men’s bathroom may be found here. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this much-needed facelift is a welcome upgrade for the conference center.
