BUD LIGHT 8” CUP 4-PERSON BEST SHOT
Today is the final day to take advantage of the early bird discount. This tournament is always a blast with the gigantic 8” cups on every green. The tournament will be an 11 a.m. shotgun on Sunday, April 28. An entry form can be found here.

PANORAMA WEST KICKOFF EVENT APRIL 21
A special event to kick off the 2013 season at Panorama West Golf Course and Clubhouse will be held Sunday, April 21, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Several new things are happening at Panorama West in 2013. LPN personnel, led by John Dinnebier, will manage the operation this year. This event is a chance to meet the staff, see improvements to the clubhouse, and learn what’s in the works for 2013.

At the kickoff, league leaders will share information about plans for the coming year, door prizes will be awarded, and hot fudge sundaes served. Golf will be free throughout the day. Check out the new section of the LPN website highlighting Panorama West.

PANORAMA WEST WOMEN’S LEAGUE KICKOFF LUNCHEON APRIL 24
The Panorama West women’s league meets each Tuesday morning, with the first day of golf scheduled for May 7. To kick off the new season, a luncheon will be held Wednesday, April 24, at the Lake Panorama National Conference Center.

Information about all aspects of the league will be shared at the luncheon. The format for this league is individual play, with weekly prizes, special events, and lots of fun. It’s open to both beginners and experienced players.

If you haven’t played in this league, the kickoff will be a great time to learn more. If you have played in this league, the kickoff is a chance to catch up with friends! Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. The cost is $10. Make reservations by April 19 by contacting Janet Luing at 641-755-3347.

NEW SPRING MERCHANDISE IN LPN PRO SHOP
The award winning LPN Pro Shop is stocked with everything you will need to look and play your best this golf season. New equipment in the shop includes Titleist 913 drivers, fairway woods and hybrids, Titleist ProV1 & ProV1x golf balls, and FootJoy shoes and gloves. You’ll also find new merchandise such as Ashworth Golf polos, Oarsman sweatshirts and blankets, Zero Restriction shirts and pullovers, women’s EP Pro pullovers and more.

Current pro shop hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Hours are based on weather conditions and course traffic.

LAKE PANORAMA NATIONAL MEN’S LEAGUE
On May 1, the Men’s Stag will be held to kick off the Men’s League season. We encourage members or potential members to attend compliments of Lake Panorama National. Cocktails and munchies begin at 5:30 p.m. with a brief program and raffle drawing scheduled to start around 7 p.m. Find more Men’s League details at our website.

LAKE PANORAMA NATIONAL WOMEN’S LEAGUE
The fun will start with the league tee-off dinner on Thursday, May 2, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The evening will include dinner, program, gifts, prizes and details about the 2013 league. It does not matter if you are a long-time league member or a first-year member, the tee-off dinner is something you won’t want to miss. If you do not have a partner or do not know if you want to join the league, the tee-off dinner is a great place to find a partner, decide if you want to join, or sign up as a sub. The cost for the tee-off dinner is $15.

SOCIAL CANVAS PAINTING RETURNS TO LPN APRIL 30
For the second time, the LPN will host a “Social Canvas To Go” event in which participants go home with an acrylic painting they created. The Social Canvas is owned by Terry and Linda Laughery of Guthrie Center. Painting sessions generally are held at a studio in Waukee, but the success of an LPN February event led to a return engagement April 30.

In a group setting, an artist guides participants step-by-step through replicating the night’s featured painting. The session begins at 6 p.m., but participants should arrive early to check in.

Food and drink can be purchased from The Links before, during and after the event. Specials in will include $1 off all appetizers and flat bread pizzas, $1.50 draw beer, $2.50 well drinks and $3 glasses of house wine.

The session will last about two hours. Cost is $35, which covers canvases, paints, brushes, easels and aprons. Credit card information is collected to hold the reservation, with the $35 fee paid at check-in. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 515-216-1037, or online.
