John was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa, and is a person who has a love for the game of golf.  He started playing at the age of three where he was very involved in junior golf.  John graduated from East High School and then on to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE where he became the #1 player at the University.

After graduation, John turned professional and began his career working at the Red Carpet Golf in Waterloo for three seasons before accepting the job of assistant golf professional at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club, host of the 1999 US Senior Open Championship.

In 1999 he accepted the position of head golf professional at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora, Iowa. 

John is the winner of numerous PGA section tournaments and has been named resort merchandiser of the year in 2001 & 2002 and has also been recognized as Iowa Golf Association Golf Professional of the Year in 2002.

John has a love for the game that is addicting.  He currently oversees all aspects of resort operations at Lake Panorama National Resort and Conference Center. 

He is currently the General Manager and Director of Golf at the Resort and is entering his tenth season at Lake Panorama National Resort. John was named the Iowa Golf Association Club Manager of the Year in 2007.

He also holds the course record at LPN shooting a 61(11 under par) during the Ryder Cup.
